Assistant Accountant

We are hiring on behalf of a highly respected manufacturing and design agency based in Hong Kong, with over 45 years of industry expertise and a solid global presence. As a leader in OEM manufacturing and exporting within Asia, they have built a reputation for quality and innovation.

They are looking for a talented, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual to join their team and contribute to their day-to-day accounting operations. This is an opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and make a meaningful impact within their finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the entire accounting cycle, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL).
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Lead meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to discuss financial performance and address any issues.
  • Handle bank reconciliations and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of audits and implement audit recommendations.
  • Maintain and document proper accounting processes, controls, and procedures.
  • Generate and process Debit/Credit notes as needed, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
  • Handle Travel & Entertainment reporting and processing.
  • Respond to ad hoc queries and perform analysis as required.

Requirements:

  • Proactive with willingness to learn and adopt a continual improvement mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to lead meetings and group discussions.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English & Chinese.
  • Ability to multi-task within a high-pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines and switching between day-to-day operations and problem solving.
  • Experience in ERP systems (SAP Business One would be strong advantage)
  • High proficiency in Office, and strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, sensitive to numbers and analytically minded.
  • Entrepreneurial and independent.
  • Problem solver instead of problem identifier.

Experience Needed:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on managing full sets of accounts (experience in trading or import/export industry is a plus).

Educational Background:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related business field.
  • Professional Accounting Qualification or student member (is a plus).
